Are you a proactive engineer with a keen eye for integration and design? As a Hardware Engineer Secondary Systems at Alewijnse, you’ll ensure that electrical systems—both from Alewijnse and external subcontractors—seamlessly integrate onboard impressive maritime projects. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, under the guidance of a Project Manager and a Technical Project Manager.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you are responsible for the electrical integration of systems on board. You translate client requirements and technical specifications into a complete design. Working closely with colleagues and other suppliers, you help shape the best possible solution—while safeguarding the bigger picture and preventing bottlenecks.
Your responsibilities:

Defining system requirements and interface specifications

Coordinating interfaces with subcontractors and clients

Determining required materials and preparing production documentation

Monitoring progress and reporting according to project planning
You’ll work closely with the Technical Project Manager and fellow engineers. Your role is crucial to ensuring a fully functioning end result.

A gross monthly salary between €3,800 and €5,000 (full-time)

What you bring:

A bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering

Experience as a Hardware Engineer, preferably in shipbuilding

Knowledge of shipboard systems and electrical integration

Strong organisational and communication skills
