Every career journey starts with a turning point. For Mai, it was the decision to take a new step after several years working in logistics at her previous company- a move that wasn’t easy, but one that opened up new opportunities at Alewijnse Marine Vietnam.

Mai didn’t start from scratch. Her prior experience helped her quickly adapt to the job, yet stepping into a new environment came with its own challenges. “At first, I felt quite pressured because everything required high accuracy and tight timelines. But thanks to the support from my team, I gradually got used to it and became more confident.”

At Alewijnse Marine Vietnam, Mai is mainly responsible for handling import shipments, while also supporting export operations and tracking shipments to ensure everything stays on schedule. Her work requires close coordination with different departments, from warehouse and packing to delivery. This level of collaboration not only keeps operations running smoothly but also makes her role more meaningful every day.

“Alewijnse is a place to grow, to challenge yourself, and to keep moving forward — with many more milestones waiting ahead.”

What Mai appreciates most is the strong team spirit. “Everyone is always willing to support each other, especially when unexpected issues come up. It makes me feel like I’m never alone at work.” Mai particularly enjoys the open communication and collaborative working culture at Alewijnse, where ideas can be shared freely and support is always within reach. She also values the international working environment, which gives her the opportunity to learn new standards and broaden her perspective.

“In my role, I have the chance to work with colleagues from different Alewijnse offices like Romania. Even though we are in different locations, we stay closely connected and support each other to keep projects on track. It’s interesting to see how different teams work and to learn from their experience — it really helps me grow and see things from a more global perspective.”

Over time, Mai has seen significant growth in herself — not only in terms of skills but also in her mindset. “I’ve learned to be more proactive, more detail-oriented, and most importantly, to focus on solutions instead of problems.”
