One day, while reading business related news in offshore-energy.biz website, Kibele noticed Alewijnse listed as a partner. She looked into the company profile, business areas, and projects, and realized this was the perfect place to grow her career.
I completed my BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey. Afterwards, I started a Master’s degree in Sustainable Environment & Energy Systems. But then during my thesis COVID hit, I paused my study and began working as a R&D Engineer in Istanbul. Living in the Netherlands was my childhood dream, so I knew joining Alewijnse was the right decision.

“My day always starts with at least one cup of coffee, but usually it’s more. As a sales engineer, no two days are the same. Our department is very dynamic because we often have little time to process information and prepare our quotations and technical specifications. Because communication at Alewijnse is fast and open, I am learning to manage my tasks and share responsibilities with my team. Help is always just a question away – whether from my own team or from others, such as the engineering department, with whom I work closely. Even when they are busy, my colleagues make time to answer technical questions. That supportive, welcoming attitude is what makes Alewijnse special.
I also really enjoy the fun side of our culture, such as the enjoyable sports activities and company parties where everyone gets together. And of course during lunch, when I like to challenge my colleagues to a game of table football.
Another aspect I appreciate is the strong focus on work-life balance. I also find the mentality of ‘learn from your mistakes and grow from them’ very valuable.”
