Training at Alewijnse: The next generation of electricians is ready! A smart blend of theory and practice, on board and on site

At Alewijnse, we believe that true growth happens through hands-on learning. That is why we have established our own training centre in Galați, Romania. Since August 2021, we have been training two to three groups each year to become fully qualified electricians, equipped with a solid foundation in both theory and practical skills.

Learning on the job

Before starting the full training programme, you will spend a month as a pre-intern to get a feel for the profession. You will join real projects on board of vessels, at the yard or in our panel building department. This allows you to discover whether the work suits you and to get to know the atmosphere in advance.

Then the real work begins: a 4.5-month training course combining 1.5 months of theory with 3 months of practical training. You will learn not only in the classroom but especially on site, using real installations, modern equipment and a lifelike ship simulation. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor with over 40 years of knowledge, you will have every opportunity to develop your skills.
