At Alewijnse, you’ll be working on advanced control systems for a variety of vessels. Together with a team of experienced fellow engineers, you’ll delve into the world of PLCs and SCADA solutions. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to continue learning, exploring and, above all, developing.
What will you be doing?
As a Software Engineer, you will be involved from day one in the design, programming and implementation of control software for maritime installations. Working alongside a team of automation engineers, you will learn how Alewijnse develops software for PLC and HMI systems used on board ships.
Your duties will include:

Designing and developing control software for maritime applications

Testing and commissioning systems, both in the workshop and on board

Analysing and resolving technical issues

Collaborating in project teams with various disciplines, e.g. hardware, AVIT engineers, as well as technical project managers, planners, work planners, etc.

Contributing ideas on optimising processes and systems

Assisting with the resolution of faults reported to the service department.

Who are you?
You are a quick learner and embrace technical challenges with enthusiasm. You are curious, enjoy working in a team and are equally capable of working independently.
In addition, you possess:

A higher vocational education (HBO) degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics or a comparable field

Several years’ relevant experience as a software engineer

Basic knowledge of PLC programming (e.g. Siemens TIA Portal, Schneider Electric/Modicon)

An interest in maritime technology and automation systems

Good communication skills in Dutch and English
-
A proactive work ethic and a sense of responsibility
