Would you like to help shape the electrical infrastructure of naval vessels? As a Hardware Engineer Steelwork at Alewijnse, you will design the cable support systems and penetrations that are essential for safe and reliable installations on board. With your attention to detail and practical insight, you play a key role in our naval projects.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you serve as the linchpin between design, engineering, implementation, and the client. You coordinate the integration of all electrical subsystems on board and help maintain technical coherence across the entire vessel. You’ll work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and clients to ensure systems perform reliably under the most demanding conditions.
Your key responsibilities:
-
Define and manage the system architecture for naval electrical engineering projects
-
Coordinate integration of various electrical subsystems onboard
-
Act as the primary point of contact between design, engineering, execution, and the client
-
Manage stakeholders across internal teams and client organisations
-
Operate from our secure locations in Nijmegen or Krimpen, with client visits 1–2 times per month
Rather than being a deep specialist in a single area, your strength lies in your broad technical knowledge and ability to maintain oversight in complex environments.
What do we offer you?
At Alewijnse, you’ll work on cutting-edge defence projects that push the boundaries of technology. We offer a dynamic and supportive environment where you’ll have the opportunity to grow – professionally and personally.
What you can expect:
-
A monthly salary between €3,800 and €5,000, depending on experience
-
Overtime compensation
-
Extensive training opportunities and clear progression paths (e.g. towards Technical Project Manager)
-
Metal & Engineering Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) with 25 holidays and 13 additional ADV days
-
Pension scheme via PMT
-
Company laptop and phone
-
Plus: sport activities, staff outings, and access to our in-house webshop full of employee perks
Who are you?
You have a technical background and thrive in complex projects where coordination and communication are key. You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and are passionate about driving innovation in the maritime and defence sectors.
What you bring to the role:
-
A degree (HBO level) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
-
Experience with system integration, ideally within maritime or defence environments
-
Strong analytical skills and a proactive, structured working style
-
Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholders
-
Willingness to work at our sites in Nijmegen or Krimpen
